How did u get ur brain injury? Mine was from brain surgery, partial "eviction" of a 2" 🍋-sized brain tumor, the rest is inoperable & I'm now on yearly MRi's w&w, so far so good, Freddy Jr is still dormant. Recovery is a life long process, the struggle is REAL, especially with invisible injuries. What do u still struggle with the most?

Interesting video and thanks for the tips and tricks. Question? The small kite parts (lines) are made of double layers of Icarex P31. You stitch your molds to the Icarex if I understand correctly. Does your molds then stay between the 2 layers of Icarex and does this provide the stiffness of the 'kite sail'?? If yes, what kind af material do you use for your molds?

Thank you Ron. Sharing your technique and way of working is a great help. Next winter (in Europe) we are going to make a Genki (3 meter across) with inside curved wing borders. This video is clear for us (incl. my partner... she is sewing the kites for me) . We are not completely new in kite building. We made some Revolution kites, some Malay's, but until now we only used 'straight' lines in our patterns. Now we are going to try something more difficult. Right now I'm sketching the kite on paper, afterwards I'll draw it in ACAD in order to print a 1:1 hardcopy.

😊 Thank you for the way back machine! I was 14 when this happened and just so happens is exactly when I was given my first kite. A Skynasaur Aerobat in neon orange. Time claimed it from me, but the fates allowed me the opportunity of owning it again a few years ago. I chance found one in new in bag un flown old stock condition! The sound this sail made and the memories of being towed around keep it safely in its bag still. I hope to pass it on to a young flyer some day so those memories can live on in the heart of another who finds pure joy in catching the wind!

His agt audition gives me comfort when I need it and I see his talent has improved a lot. This boy is a gift.

What is the name for the style of kite discussed at @0:47:45? As a teenager back in the early-1990s I frequently made large paper kites exactly like that, having learned the design from an article in the old farmers almanac or a similar publication. I have no idea who wrote the brief instructional article but that cake design was so easy to slap together and they were great flyers.
